Wow I have only done about 9 scrapbook layouts since the end of August! Times have been busy! But I have to confess, I have also developed somewhat of an addiction to Pinterest. Have you tried it yet? If you are a member, you can follow my boards! It is so much fun! I like it much better than Tumblr and Stumbled Upon for crafty stuff, recipes, etc. And it's super easy once you give it a try!

Holiday Season

Wow there are only 6 weeks until Christmas! I am almost done my shopping already - aside from the main gifts for everyone. I have most of the little bits and pieces I usually get for our stockings and small presents... I can't wait to do some holiday layouts, and I have seen a LOT of freebie kits around already. But it doesn't feel like nearly half way through November because we haven't had any snow lol. Well, tell a lie, we've had a tiny dribble a few times but nothing to stick for long. I guess since we had snow all the way til JUNE, we should be happy not to have snow on the ground yet ;) But it messes with your mind when trying to get into the holiday spirit lol. I went to our Farmer's Market Christmas Crafts show last night and bought 4 new ornaments for our 'Winter Wonderland' tree and now I want to put it up LOL. But, I will wait until December 1st for that :) Until then I will start collecting Christmas kits. You can join me by starting with the Shabby Pickle Blog Train :)

I lost my dad in 1996 when I was only 23 years old and he was 49. I think about him a lot and teach my kids about him. He was a forest ranger, park ranger, fire chief, former Sapper in the Canadian Engineers.. and is now a grandfather to three children that he didn't get the chance to meet, but they know all about him.

Kids back to school, I've been back to work since June, and haven't had much time for scrapping let alone making up kits but fingers crossed I will get the bonus freebie add-on finished in time lol. Here is a layout I made today using one of the kits (by Glayce). I had a very sudden moment of missing my father, and had to write my feelings down. He passed away at his workplace in 1996, of a sudden heart attack. I was living in England at the time, so I got the news a few hours after I finished work for the day. I managed to get home to Canada less than 48 hours later. It seems so long ago, almost 13 years, but some days, like today, it feels like it was yesterday. I felt much better after 'penning' my thoughts and decided to scrap the letter for keeps.
